Something Greater

To take up your cross and follow Jesus means, among other things, to deny self. This is certainly not a popular message in our society today. We don't want to hear what we can do to please Jesus, but rather what can Jesus do to please us! We cannot be a disciple of Jesus if we aren't willing to surrender all and live for something other than and greater than our own pleasures and comforts.

One time I said, “If you only believe in what you can see then you must not believe in love.” Now if you are a Christian you probably know why I said this. It was to logically demonstrate that although you cannot see God, this does not mean He doesn’t exist or that His existence should be unbelievable.
