“To Whom Shall We Go?” | Staying With Jesus When His Words Are Hard | John 6:60–71

In John 6, many people who once followed Jesus began walking away when His teaching became difficult. But in the middle of that moment, Peter asks one of the greatest questions in all of Scripture:

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

This sermon explores the difference between shallow faith and genuine discipleship, the danger of following Jesus only for what He gives, and why true believers continue clinging to Christ even when His words are hard.

Topics Covered:

  • Why crowds walked away from Jesus.
  • “They wanted the provision—but not the Provider.”
  • True faith vs. superficial faith.
  • The Bread of Life discourse.
  • Why salvation is ultimately a work of grace.
  • Peter's confession: “To whom shall we go?”
  • Enduring faith in a compromising culture.
